Woke up this morning to rain, wind, and blown out crap surf! Doomed! Wayne checked the forecast, and it still looks like Friday will be my day, but I am not counting on it. I did not let the weather get me down. I spent the entire day painting, while listening to all the great new music Colby loaded onto my i-pod while I was in San Francisco. Wait, "Girls Gone Wild?" Very funny! You can take that off when I see you on Saturday.
Karen, I hope you still want to do that show together. I did six new watercolors today. It took me the entire day, from just after breakfast until nearly 5 p.m. That's 1 a.m. back home. Man, am I gonna be messed up when I get back and have to get up and go to work the next morning...
No matter. Despite my luck, which is usually good on most surf trips, I have learned so very much on this adventure. I will return with a better outlook, and no illusions about what I had held to so steadfastly. I still will be dramatic, sorry. When that's gone, it will be time to close up shop for good.
So, Karen, look up at the stars. Think about all the illusions we both have held onto for far too long. Let's return, better than ever, and ready to charge.
