Surfing wasn't all that good today...

...but it was better with friends. Bob and Andy met me in the parking lot. We already knew it was crappy. We decided to just go, without even looking, as a day of surfing, er, paddling, is better than blah, blah, blah.

It was absolute crap. But, the good thing about today was that Bob got to ride Andy's placebo and my Dominator. The votes are in and he chooses... the Dominator. The waves were only one foot, weak and mushy and onshore, but I noticed how he immediately took to the board and how fluid he looked. We both agreed that his board and mine seemed to feel similar in the paddling area, despite his 6'4" being much longer than my 5'6"." It's all about the distribution of the foam.

Just go buy that 5'8", Bob. You know you will never regret it. Times' a wasting, boy!

Karen, Bruce, and the G-Man showed up and parked an umbrella on the beach. That was an unexpected surprise. It was good to see them, and I made some sand aliens with G-Man and caught up with K&B, which was nice. The water is getting warmer, no wetsuit again today. That's something.

How about that drunk guy last night? I woke up at 4 am to the sound of someone pounding on a door downstairs. I went back to sleep, and at 4:37am, it started again. I looked out my upstairs window to see three cop cars down on the street. I opened the window and heard the cops about to break down someone's door across the way.

Crash! Glass breaking and then cussing. I have never heard the F word used that much. I think every other word was MOTHER F%#^$&@_! The cops were trying to be nice, but the drunk was over the top belligerent. I was hoping they would just take him down the stairs like they were threatening to do. I went back to bed but just before I closed the window I noticed the winds were calm. Didn't do anyone any good. At two feet at five seconds, the only ones happy were the fishermen and the tourists...
