The tourists love it.
If I wasn't getting out of here on Tuesday, things would be turning even more grim. Last night, during a bright slice of life at my best friend's house, out of the mouth of a two year old, came a gem of unexpected insight. He studied my face carefully and asked why I looked sad. I didn't even realize it was showing. Kids are the best thing on the planet. So innocent, and loving, and where life resides at its most exuberant. Every time you turn on the news another baby has died inside a locked car or has been strangled by a snake. You should have to pass a test to be allowed the privilege of having a child.
The unemployment rate passed 9% yesterday. A good friend's mom is in the hospital.
Find some light, and move in that direction.
