This is a winter for the record books. Coldest, flattest winter ever that I can recall since moving here in 1979. It has been one month since I have been in the water. If I hadn't gone to Puerto Rico, I would be a patient at Shutter Island.
Check out this shot taken at Playa Grande, Costa Rica today. There was a period of time today when no one could go surfing there, either. It wasn't due to the cold or flat conditions. It was high alert for crocodiles.
